Oscar’s Daddy
Oscar’s Daddy was originally inspired by a program that is now a decade old and all but forgotten, entitled Oscar. Oscar was Widely used in the 90’s Warez scene, primarily by the group Phrozen Crew. Oscar was simply an application that contained key generators and serial numbers for almost every popular software package that existed at the time.
To the best of my knowledge, there exists no equivalent to Oscar’s Daddy at this time.
Many times I have lost serial numbers for purchased applications, other times the original CD becomes unreadable. While there is an obvious use for Oscar’s Daddy to enable the use of pirated software, it’s intention is to provide a way for people to continue using legitimately obtained software that might otherwise be un-usable for various reasons.
Originally created with Delphi for my own personal use sometime around 2004, I have finally updated OD, ported it to C#, and decided to release it to the public.
Using OD is pretty straight forward. Simply enter your search query, double click the desired result, and *poof*, it is downloaded.
OD does it’s job by hijacking the resources of a major online crack / keygen database, quite possibly one of if not the largest in the world.
Why not just obtain the desired files via the web site you say? In short, I don’t like viruses. Unfortunately, sites of this nature are well known to contain viruses spread through various browser exploits. Simply browsing to the front page of [the site] caused an infection that took a week to completely eliminate the traces of.
Another bonus for using OD, is that if there are 30 pages of search results, all 30 pages are retrieved and displayed at once.
Given the nature of [the site], I have no remorse over hijacking their services.
What’s up with [the site]? For a number of reasons, I have chosen not to name the resource that is used by OD. Mostly in an effort to not hinder my Google page rank.
That about says it all. Oscar’s Daddy is very small (< 60KB) and so simple your grandmother could use it.

Can you be a little more specific? Do you have .NET framework 2.0 installed? Not having it *will* cause it to crash on startup.
Hi thanks for the cool program. One thingn though, it seems that some of the files are infected with viruses. So beware that some could be infected. Files meaning the cracks.
I got several with trojans in them.

You are very correct. This is probably the #1 issue when downloading cracks / keygens and really, it is to be expected. As the last line of the disclaimer above states, it is recommended to scan anythign obtained via this application due to the nature of the scene.
I assure you any malware, spyware, viruses, etc, found in anything obtained via Oscar’s Daddy is NOT the result of Oscar’s Daddy. Downloading files of this nature by any means is often prone to infection.
On the other hand, may AV scanners (more notably those that employ heuristics scanning) will falsly identify cracks / keygens as threats due to their nature while thay may really be benign.
Hope this clears it up. Thanks for the feedback. OD has been propogated to MANY torrent (and other) sites since I released it, with 1000+ downloads and no real complaints or issues, I’m happy to say the release seems to be a success!
